Dead pixel failure repairs on Alfa Romeo 164 AC unit
Old Alfa Romeo AC / Air Conditioning units may suffer from the common dead / fading / disappearing pixels on the LCD display that shows temperature. The problem lies with the ribbon cable / flat cable that connects the LCD display to the circuit board of the instrument cluster. This is a heat seal connector, so you need to buy a “T head” to solder the new cable in.
